Writing

I identify as a public-facing scholar. This means I am as passionate about communicating psychological science to the general public as I am about conducting original research.

I am currently writing my first book, BEYOND THE LOOKING GLASS, slated for publication in 2027 by Flatiron in the U.S. and Penguin Life in the U.K.

Popular Articles

In addition to my 100+ academic papers, I’ve written several articles through my invited Psychology Today blog, Psychology of Adolescence: The Science of Teens, Screens, Gender, and Sexuality.

I was honored to serve on the American Psychological Association panel that wrote the 2023 Health Advisory on Social Media Use in Adolescence (and its updates), which generated more than 4,000 press clips, led to the Surgeon General’s Advisory on Social Media and Youth Mental Health (released two weeks later), and continues to influence policy discussions.
