Welcome!
Welcome! I'm Dr. Sophia Choukas-Bradley (Sophie, she/her pronouns). I'm a licensed clinical psychologist, award-winning researcher and instructor, Director of the Teen and Young Adult Lab, and tenured Associate Professor of Psychology at the University of Pittsburgh. I also serve as the Clinical Psychology Lead for the new Center for Digital Thriving at the Harvard Graduate School of Education. To learn more about my work, please see my CV and subscribe to my new weekly Substack newsletter, No Filter (free).
The TAYA Lab studies sociocultural influences on adolescent and young adult mental health, with an emphasis on social media use, gender, sexuality, body image, and LGBTQ+ youth.
Note for prospective students: I am not accepting applications from prospective graduate students during the upcoming 2024-2025 admissions cycle. As of September 2024, we also do not currently have any openings for paid or unpaid positions for undergraduate, post-baccalaureate, graduate student, or post-doctoral trainees. We will keep the Join the Lab page updated when this changes; this page also has professional development resources for prospective graduate students.
